THE STORY OF A TRANSFORMATIVE MISSION FOR BETTER FUTURES
Guru Nanak Blind Missionary Society is founded by blind religious singers S. Rajinder Singh Bhatti, S. Gian Singh Surjit, S. Avtar Singh Maan, and S. Sital Singh Sitara. In the early seventies, they migrated to England, UK. They faced many difficulties in their childhood but with their commitment, they mastered religious music and made their profession their livelihood.

During their early years in the UK, the group dreamt of setting up an institute for blind people and orphans where they could impart job-oriented training to the visually impaired and orphans so that they may not face barriers in life as they did. In 1988, the founders purchased some land and registered it in the name of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, creating the institute with hard work and attention to achieve their goal.

Now, many individuals reside here, learning a wide range of valuable skills to enrich their lives and improve their opportunities. After getting training, many of the children have begun working in both government and non-government establishments. The work that continues at the Ashram provides a secure, homely, respectful and supportive atmosphere to vulnerable individuals with a troubled past, allowing them to gain a rich education and independence.
